Third Kind's 7th Birthday!

IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY… So let’s make it sustainable!

Today is TKG’s 7th birthday, and as tradition dictates, we’re throwing a party, and while we like to party hard, we also want to party sustainably! That’s why we’re doubling down on our commitment to sustainability and office zero-waste goals for our Oktoberfest-themed anniversary. All while being on our best (not wurst) behaviour and strapping on our finest lederhosen for our lager-than-life celebrations!

7 years around the sun have gone by fast, and we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come! We’ve grown a lot and learnt a lot, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for TKG.

Why prioritise sustainability for our party?

Simply put: it’s important!

Our environmental responsibility is something we care deeply about at TKG, as you might’ve seen in our recent posts, and we want to use products in the studio that are designed and produced with a focus on minimising their negative impact on the environment. We want to make sure we are doing what we can to reduce our waste, lower our greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the conservation of natural resources.

We also want to make sure that the products we have at the studio are created ethically by people who are getting paid a fair wage, and produced under fair labour conditions by people working in safe and secure environments. Supporting such products promotes ethical and social responsibility in the supply chain!

So how do you party sustainably?

We’re running our Oktoberfest party as eco-friendly and community-driven as we can! Our decorations are handmade with 100% paper, 50% of which is recycled paper, lovingly created by our superb office team, and our food is sourced locally from ‘The Sausage Man’, who make a positive impact themselves by helping build schools and water wells in Burma. The sausages will be cooked by our talented office chefs to eliminate food waste, so there won’t be a wurst destined for the bin. Of course, it’s not a party unless there’s cake, which we’re getting from The Cakery here in Leamington, a 40-year experienced local gem and beer supplied by our friends at Twisted Barrel Ale (who make our TKG beer – Spacebar), a vegan brewery based in Coventry.

Thank you to all who have supported us in our journey, and here's to many more years!
